In the current era (2026) it has become quite evident that the social, political, cultural and economic aspects of this nation are in serious disarray. The evidence to support this claim is both unavoidable and irrefutable.
Foremost among the maladies that have eroded public confidence in regard to the prospects for the future is the rampant and unsustainable corruption in government and in public life. There is a substantial scope of data that supports this contention. I have elaborated the factual information that supports this contention repeatedly in previous publications. I have no intention of revisiting this. I am proposing, however, that it be accepted as a given.
This corruption has its source in the extraordinary imbalance in the national distribution of wealth. It has gotten so extreme that one dividual, in particular has accumulated one trillion dollars in personal wealth As a consequence, this enormous wealth held by the few has given this economic class extraordinary access to the seat of government to the point that they can determine who runs for office and, since the Supreme in its infinite wisdom undermined any future opportunity to reinstate reasonable campaign finance reform by claiming that any attempt to regulate its influence violates free speech.
In a sense, the United States has become a capitalist economic order that has run amuck – with real power in the hands of the very few who don’t seem to have any interest in maintaining the Commons and working for the public good. The direction it seems to be heading towards is essentially unsustainable.
So exactly how do we proceed within this political and economic climate? In my mind the answer lies in education – in disciplining young minds to tap into high order brain function. A necessary corollary to this approach is to make it clear that relying on impulses stemming from the lower brain to resolve conflict is an entirely mistaken pathway that will not produce sanguine results.
Of course, the follow up question is how can such a radical approach be implemented? - it must come from the bottom up. The impact of such a sea-change would be enormous. For example, the guttural response to the reality of Climate Change would be immediately impacted – reason and science would necessarily win out. In addition, seeing reality through this lens would immediately shatter the false reality of race, of pure race and of pure ethnicity - with no substantial groud to stand upon.
This idea may very well have no real traction, in the light of the reality of the enormous Wealth and Power that is far too well entrenched. What is of enormous concern for me is the abysmal consequences that may well come to fruition if nothing is done to correct this inherent imbalance. For it will clearly lead to a society permeated by chaos, violence and the ultimate collapse of the social order. This is not something we should wish for future generations to endure.
