The sun is proud here,
confident in its dominion.
It awakens the birds from
their nestled itinerant sleep,
it sets the sky ablaze
with voluptuous dawn,
calls the mountains to attention,
enlivens the forests,
summons artists to
canvas and clay,
brings the world from it’s dreams,
implants the image of yet another day
on the incessant wheel of living.
